Man arrested on suspicion of murder after bodies were discovered at home in Porthmadog, Gwynedd

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies of a woman and child were found at a house in north Wales.

North Wales police were called to an address in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, at 9.20pm on Friday and the pair were declared dead at the scene. A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene.

A police spokesman said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Next of kin have been informed and family members are being offered support by specialist officers.

Officers remained at the scene, and the deaths were being treated as a major incident, police said.

The spokesman added: "Police are asking anyone to contact them if they were near Glanmorfa Terrace yesterday evening or may have any information about the incident.
