Carbon, a fully-featured Twitter app for Windows Phone, has been released out of beta to the (hopeful) joy of many Twitter users. The Metro-styled app is not only attractive, but it also has all of the features that we've come to expect from premium Twitter clients: URL shortening, image uploads, multiple accounts, Read It Later and Instapaper support, and threaded Direct Messages. You can also reply to tweets from within your timeline, and you can set up live tiles that let you quickly keep track of hashtags and compose or search tweets.
What we're really excited about are inline image and video previews right in the timeline (simple, we know, but we have simple needs). The app also lets you quickly respond, retweet, or favorite posts by double-clicking the tweet, and the so-called Quickline lets you access all of your timelines, retweets, lists, and more from one place. Unfortunately, the $1.99 app doesn't yet support push notifications, though the developers say that they'll implement the tech soon.
