Norwich to London trains resume after derailment

Rail services have resumed at Norwich after a maintenance train derailment caused cancellations for several hours.

All services to and from London Liverpool Street and Cambridge were stopped at about 08:00 BST, after the incident at Trowse swing-bridge.

Greater Anglia said no one was hurt in the derailment. Replacement buses were not available at Norwich railway station until about 10:00 BST.

All lines were reopened at 13:45 BST, Greater Anglia added.

Speaking to the BBC earlier, Geraint Hughes of Greater Anglia had said its main priority was to get the track cleared and services running, and that train owner Network Rail would investigate the incident in time.

He apologised about the delay in getting replacement buses and said they had been difficult to get hold of as there were only "a small number in circulation".
