Two Crystal Palace supporters have been arrested after a knife, Class A drugs, alcohol and a flare were found on a coach.

Acting on information, officers stopped the coach at 08:00 BST in South Norwood Hill, South Norwood, south-east London.

One man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs and another under the Explosives Act.

They remain in custody at a south London police station.

Police said the second man had also been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.

The coach carrying supporters did not continue on its journey.

The driver has been reported under the Sporting Events Act, which states it is illegal for public service vehicles heading to sports grounds to carry alcohol.

It was part of a drive under Operation Arrowtip, set up to tackle football-related crime and disorder.

Crystal Palace are playing Blackburn at Ewood Park in Lancashire in a match that kicked off at 15:00 BST.
