Kings of Leon have been confirmed as one of the headliners for this year's iTunes festival.

The American four-piece will play at London's Roundhouse on 11 September.

Their performance will be in the same month as they release their sixth studio album, Mechanical Bull.

Rizzle Kicks, Queens of The Stone Age and Vampire Weekend will also play at the month-long festival. Kings of Leon said: "It's always been something we've wanted to do."

Pop-punk band Paramore will also play the festival on 4 September, while Icelandic group Sigur Ros will headline on 2 September.

"We heard the Roundhouse was an old shed for turning round trains in the old days. Well, we don't have any trains in Iceland but we're very fond of sheds," said Sigur Ros.

Rizzle Kicks said: "One of our most memorable performances last year was playing at The Roundhouse, so we're extremely excited that we're getting the chance to play there again so soon."

The new additions join previously announced headliners Jessie J and Justin Timberlake.
