Do This: Jim Gaffigan Book Signing At Up Comedy Club

By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on May 9, 2013 9:00PM

2013_5_9_gaffigan_sm.jpg Stand up comic Jim Gaffigan sat down and wrote a book.

The funnyman known for his riffs on food is also the father of five kids ages 9 and under, which brings a whole new level to his observational humor.

Gaffigan compiled his stories of fatherhood in his first book Dad Is Fat. He says, "It's not an advice book. It's not a 'I love my kids' book. It's not a 'I hate my kids' book." It's just funny. Skip the fluff and "get to the funny."

We had a chance to chat with Mr. Gaffigan this afternoon, so check back tomorrow morning to read the full interview. Until then, Dad Is Fat is on sale now.

Pfeffier Hall, North Central College, is at 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. Show starts at 7 p.m. Call 630-355-2665 for tickets.

Up Comedy Club is at 230 W. North Ave. Doors open at 11 a.m. Tickets are $32, which includes a copy of the book.
