London Bridge Station evacuated over police incident

London Bridge railway station has reopened after being evacuated over reports of a man with a weapon at the station, police have said.

British Transport Police (BTP) and Met officers shut down the station after receiving a call at 17:07 BST.

"The station was searched by officers but nothing suspicious was discovered", a BTP statement said.

Train services were disrupted but resumed just before 18:00 BST following the short closure.

Southern Rail cited a "public order issue" as the reason for the closure.

BTP said there was "no cause for alarm".

Travellers have been advised to check with National Rail Enquiries before embarking on their journey.
