Observation Deck: The Parking Meters of the Future

It’s another edition of Blade Runner Watch here at the Observation Deck. This time I’m thinking about parking — specifically, about how eerily accurate production designer Syd Mead was in his depictions of the parking meters of the future. Today’s meters are super convenient, with wireless functionality, accepting all sorts of payment, and embedded sensors in the street. If this is dystopia, count me in.
