Belarus: Man dies after being attacked by beaver

In Belarus, a large increase in the beaver population has been blamed after a number of attacks on humans by the large rodents.

A man died from his injuries when he was bitten multiple times by a beaver in March. He had apparently been attempting to catch the animal in order to be photographed with it.

Wildlife experts say the beaver population has now reached more than 80,000 in Belarus, and that reports of aggressive behaviour by the animals are on the rise.

Tim Hodges reports.
