Spotify is spreading its wings, launching in eight new countries throughout Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Beginning today, people in Mexico, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Iceland will all get access to the streaming music service, bringing the total to 28 countries worldwide. We’re also hearing that the price for a premium subscription in many of the new markets is substantially below the international average.

This announcement comes eight months after news of the expansion first broke, and follows similar moves into Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. But despite the new expansion, Spotify competitor Rdio is still leading the overall country count with 30 following a seven-country rollout last month.
