Mophie has carved out a niche as builders of one of the most reliable iPhone battery cases, and now it has finally introduced a model compatible with the iPhone 5 and its Lightning connector. The highlight feature of the new Mophie Juice Pack Helium is its 1,500 mAh battery, which more than doubles the capacity of the iPhone 5. The company says this is good for six more hours of talk time while on 3G, or six hours of browsing on either LTE or 3G. If you want to recharge the pack, you can just plug it in with the iPhone still encased — the charger will both refuel the case as well as the iPhone itself.

It's also 13 percent thinner than previous Mophie battery cases, so while your iPhone 5 will definitely not be as thin and light as it is without the case, it'll be more compact than previous iPhone plus battery case combos are. Mophie is taking orders for the $79.95 Juice Pack Helium now and says they should ship by next week. Since legitimate iPhone 5 battery cases have been hard to come by, this is probably one of the best options for extending your device's life.
