Boy, 15, charged over acid attack

A 15-year-old boy has been charged over an acid attack on a woman in Romford, east London.

The 28-year-old victim, called Tara, is being treated at a specialist burns unit after suffering injuries to her face and upper body in the attack.

She was attacked on the night of 30 April, police said.

The teenager, also from Romford, was charged with throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

He will appear at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Monday.
