CHICAGO — An early-morning car accident in Roseland claimed the lives of three people Saturday.

A 20-year-old woman and two 22-year-old men — twin brothers — died when the driver lost control of a 2008 Kia Optima traveling north on State Street near 102nd Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. The vehicle hit three parked cars and flipped, injuring a 15-year-old female passenger, he said. One person was found dead on the scene. All the occupants had to be extricated by fire crews, Zala said.

Two people were taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition, and another was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, fire officials said.  The 15-year-old was in stable condition at Christ, Zala said.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, one person was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:59 a.m. A male was pronounced dead at Christ Hospital at 9:13 a.m.

Crews responded to the wreck at 102nd and State streets shortly after 8:30 a.m. Six ambulances were dispatched.
